Tatara Bridge

Tatara Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge linking Ikuchijima Island and Ohmishima Island with the center span of 890m long. The bridge was the longest cable-stayed bridge in the world when the bridge was completed. The bridge was originally planned as a suspension bridge, but with the advancement of cable-stayed bridge technology, it was changed to cable-stayed bridge from the point of view of the preservation of natural environment and more economical construction. The height of the tower is 226 m above the seawater level, and this is the highest point in the route.
