Great Belt Bridge

Opened 14 June, 1998

Connects Halsskov with Knudshoved by crossing the Great Belt strait. Officially named the East Bridge, the suspension bridge is the world’s fifth-longest main span (1.6 km / 1 mi); the longest outside Asia. The bridge was the largest construction project in Danish history reducing travel times through Denmark from Sweden and the rest of Scandinavia to mainland Europe.
